Position Overview – Student Optician

The Student Optician role is ideal for those currently enrolled in an opticianry program who want to develop their optical skills while gaining real-world experience in a retail eye care environment.

This position offers hands-on training under licensed opticians and exposure to advanced lens technology, customer care, and store operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide an exceptional customer experience through the CEE Service Model (Connect, Explore, Exceed).
• Assist customers in selecting frames and lenses that fit their lifestyle and prescription needs.
• Perform frame adjustments, record measurements, and dispense eyewear under supervision of a licensed optician.
• Operate the Point of Sale system accurately and manage payments securely.
• Maintain store appearance and visual standards based on company planograms.
• Troubleshoot and problem-solve to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Support colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an Opticianry Program (required).
• Optical dispensing experience and knowledge of current optical theory.
• Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
• Comfortable using technology and sales tools (e.g., iPad/tablet).
• Familiarity with inventory and order tracking systems (preferred).
• Previous experience in retail or customer service is an asset.
