Role Overview
You'll collaborate closely with store partners, optometrists, store managers, contact lens practitioners, and eye care consultants to meet the store's objectives and cultivate customer/patient loyalty. Your role involves leveraging your expertise and experience throughout our customer journey, particularly in the eyewear dispensing process. Engaging with patients and customers, you'll identify or reaffirm their eyewear needs, educate them on products, guide them through frame selection, and ensure consistent delivery of exceptional service and eyewear quality.
Key Duties
- Assist patients and customers in understanding their visual needs and ocular conditions, interpreting optical prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists.
- Provide personalized guidance on frame selection and thoroughly explain our frame and lens product options to align with customers' visual requirements.
- Accurately perform all dispensing measurements using Optispec digital measuring tool to ensure optimal functionality, comfort, and fit of glasses.
- Familiarize yourself with our product portfolio, including frames, lenses, treatments, and promotional offers, to effectively inform customers.
- Handle customer aftercare service, including addressing complaints with customer-focused resolutions.
- Conduct quality assurance checks and final inspections in-store to ensure delivered products meet required specifications.
- Perform adjustments, repairs, and troubleshooting of eyeglasses as necessary.
- Execute eyewear collection procedures accurately and efficiently to deliver a positive and memorable customer experience.
- Stay updated on contact lens promotions and recommend fitting procedures as directed by the Contact Lens Practitioner or Store Manager/Retail Partner.
- Ensure dispensing processes adhere to provincial Opticianry professional standards of Practice and Guidelines, as well as Optispec best practices.
- Support Eye Care Consultants in ensuring every pair of glasses complies with provincial Opticianry Standards of Practice and Guidelines.
- Engage in professional development opportunities and continuous learning to enhance skills and product knowledge.
- Mentor and support team members in enhancing their optical knowledge and skills while encouraging their professional growth.
- Perform additional tasks as required, including store closing, maintaining cleanliness, conducting inventory counts, and other assigned duties.
- Uphold the Optispec brand as an ambassador at all times, embodying its behaviors and values.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Registered with the College of Opticians and possess a valid Dispensing Optician License in Ontario.
- Minimum of 2 years of prior customer service experience, preferably in an optical dispensary setting.
- Strong organizational, time management, and computer skills.
- Self-driven with problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
