Eyetelligence is a modern and patient-focused eye care clinic dedicated to delivering exceptional eye health services with professionalism, friendliness, and compassion. We are seeking a Full-Time Optometrist Assistant to join our growing team.
In this role, you will assist in patient care, perform pre-testing, manage front-desk operations, and ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for every patient. You’ll also support optical sales, insurance claims, and administrative tasks in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform pre-testing and gather patient history.
- Educate patients about eye care and eyewear options.
- Create invoices for services and products.
- Submit electronic insurance claims and process customer payments.
- Manage clinic cleanliness, inventory, and product orders.
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and messages professionally.
- Schedule and confirm appointments through SMS, email, or phone.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all forms are properly filed.
- Process insurance pre-determinations and reconcile patient data.
- Support optometrists and management with administrative tasks.
- Contribute to team meetings, training sessions, and continuous learning.
Requirements
- Canadian PR or Citizenship required.
- Bachelor’s Degree (required).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an optometry or optical clinic.
- Strong computer, business writing, and typing skills.
- Must be proficient in patient communication and data accuracy.
- Comfortable working full-time (35–40 hours/week) including Saturdays.
- Must reside within 25 km of the clinic location.
- Professional, reliable, and eager to grow in the healthcare industry.
- Updated LinkedIn profile with photo required.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly Pay: $20–$25 (based on experience)
- Sales Bonus: Available for optical sales participation
- Schedule: 4-day work week, late morning shifts (10am–6pm), closed Sundays & Mondays
