Freelance Optometrist – Part-Time / Permanent Opportunity

Optical Thirty 8 is seeking a passionate, driven, and caring Optometrist to join our professional team in the heart of downtown Toronto. Our 5,000 sq. ft. luxury optical gallery includes state-of-the-art examination rooms equipped with the latest eye care technology — EMR, auto-phoropter, fundus camera, anterior segment camera, and iPads — designed to ensure precision, comfort, and an elevated patient experience.

We currently have one full-time doctor in the clinic and are expanding into a second lane due to increased demand. This is an excellent opportunity for both new graduates and experienced optometrists who want flexibility, modern facilities, and a guaranteed minimum income.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations with the latest diagnostic instruments.
• Provide accurate prescriptions and personalized eye health recommendations.
• Collaborate closely with optical and administrative staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Maintain detailed and compliant patient records in EMR.
• Stay current with advancements in optometric care and technology.

Requirements

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree and registration with the College of Optometrists of Ontario.
• Excellent clinical, diagnostic, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Reliable, professional, and committed to providing exceptional patient care.
• Ability to commute or relocate to the Toronto downtown area.
• Weekend availability (Saturday/Sunday) is required.
• New graduates are encouraged to apply.

Compensation & Schedule

• Daily Pay: $800 – $1,200 per day (based on day and experience).
• Guaranteed Minimum:
  
  • $800/day on weekdays (Monday–Friday)
  • $1,000/day on weekends (Saturday or Sunday)
