Getting Licensed After Seneca Opticianry

How to Become a Licensed Optician After Graduating from Seneca College

Graduates of Seneca’s Opticianry program are eligible to take the National Optical Sciences Examinations (NOSE) administered by NACOR — the final step toward becoming a Registered Optician in Canada.

The process involves:

  1. Completing the Seneca Opticianry diploma (NACOR-accredited)
  2. Gaining practical experience through clinical placements
  3. Passing both eyeglass and contact lens licensing exams

After licensing, graduates can work in optical stores, eye clinics, hospitals, or start their own optical business.
