Seneca Opticianry Program – Tuition Fees and Student Costs
If you are considering enrolling in the Opticianry program at Seneca College, understanding the total cost of education is an important first step. Based on official Seneca data, tuition fees and related expenses for this program are approximately:
Tuition (per academic year): around $7,287
Books and supplies: about $1,485
These costs may vary slightly depending on your study load (full-time or part-time) and the specific semester. Students are also responsible for purchasing their opticianry tool kits, which include essential instruments for lens measurements, adjustments, and fitting practice.
Many students report spending an additional $500–$600 on optical tool kits and lab coats. While this represents an initial investment, these tools are used throughout the program and remain useful after graduation.
Financial aid, OSAP, and private bursaries are available for eligible students. In addition, several optical industry sponsors—such as HOYA Vision Care and Mood Eyewear—offer scholarships to Seneca Opticianry students.
At ECP Vision, we encourage students and future opticians to explore this program carefully, compare costs, and connect with others in the eye care community. If you are currently studying or planning to apply to Seneca, feel free to share your experience or questions in this forum.
